Karpathos offers a wide variety of activities and

Visit Apella beach - location north of Karpathos.
This picturesque beach is the most famous coast of Karpathos. It has white sand and sparkling, clean water. Apela is surrounded by huge rocks and tall pine trees. Rated no1 in Europe's Best Beaches for the year 2003.
Visit the Church of Agia Sofia - Arkasa.
The site of the ancient city of Arkesia (Arkasa), presents the ruins of a Christian Basilica belonging to the 5th -6th century a.d. This Christian basilica has been identified to be Agia Sofia and the place is now referred to as the ruins of Agia Sofia. The church is assumed to be an early Byzantine creation.
Visit Mesochori Village.
Mesohori is lying northwest of Pigadia, overlooking the sea and offering a magnificent view over the sea and the sunset. Mesohori is full of traditional houses and new ones, narrow alleys, stone steps and running waters, which are forming an attractive and charming image.
The cave of Poseidon in Pigadia town. One of the
island's natural sites is the cave of Poseidon located at Myloi. It was used either as a rock-cut tomb or a sanctuary dedicated to Poseidon or Aphrodite.
The cave has been long used by shepherds of the region and therefore today what you will see is a much eroded version of this once beautiful cave.
Visit the Folklore Museum at Othos village.
Located in the attractive village of Othos, in the traditional house of Varikas and Aristotle Stavrakis, which is a typical example of the fine Karpathian house. The museum is the propriety of the Council
of Work and Joy of Othos and exhibits a rich collection of authentic pieces of the folk art of Karpathos.
Achata beach - location north east of Pigadia.
Achata is wonderful and quiet beach with white pebble and sand. It is located close to the beach of Agia Panagia, a few kilometres north east of Pigadia. Achata is easy to reach by car or motorbike. Lying in an idyllic cove, surrounded by imountains and verdant vegetation and emerald-green colour sea waters.

In July and August the number of high wind days is incredible. Due to the local conditions, Karpathos is already teased by steady winds in May and between September and October, offering ideal conditions for beginners and intermediates. Also the experts amongst you get a really good run for their money!
